Last Saturday, Abby celebrated her 4th birthday! I, more often then not, still think of her as my baby, but days like that remind me that my "baby" is a full-fledged preschooler. But, she is good for cuddle any time and only occasionally gets mad at me for calling her my baby. :)

Abby declared that she wanted a princess party, which I thought was a stretch since out of the 4 friends (plus siblings) she was allowed to invite, 2 were boys. But one of the boys' mom assured me that he wouldn't mind, so we knighted the lads and made sure that dragons were featured heavily.

Of course Abby (& Hannah) went in full costume.

Some of the fun things we did
(for full disclosure, I should fess up and admit that I googled "princess party" and found WAY TOO MANY ideas!):Sugar Cube Castle Construction

Abby liked it, mostly because she then snuck candies off of it till we tossed the creations a few days later

The older girls also liked it and built some more elaborate castles.
Pin the fire on the dragon

Hunt for dragon eggs (the eggs were leftover Easter eggs and we put candies and trinkets in them--think of it as a substitute pinata). No pictures--went too fast!
Cinderella's Midnight Ball - basically, a dance party till you stop the music and yell, "midnight!" and the kids have to freeze. Let me tell you, they got into the dance party! Borderline mosh pit!

No party is complete without presents

or cake!

Later on that night we gave Abby our present to her-- a
fire truck from Green Toys (do you know that toy company? if you don't, look it up! cute toys while taking into account the environment. Her fire truck is made from recycled milk jugs!)

This picture really sums up Abby-- looking beautiful in her princess dress, as she races all over the floor with her fire truck. What a well rounded girl!
Aren't my girls lovely?! :)

Happy birthday Abby! You are still my lil' pumpkin!
