Well, this is a day late... Abby turned 5 months yesterday. She is now the age Hannah was when we moved here (Princeton), which I find unbelievable. She has continued to be a joy, adding quite a bit of happiness to our family. The last few days have been a bit challenging with her, she is teething (and has the diaper rash to prove it) and has a cold. We even had a sick visit to the doctor because she was being fussy and not acting like herself. However, she seems to be on the mend and all this just shows me how easy going she is. I mean, when a child has a fussy afternoon and you call the doctor in a panic because your baby is crying and that is so strange that she must be sick, that is when you know you have a good natured baby.
We had to break out the highchair because Abby hated not being able to sit at the dinner table.
Along with these other two "big girl" steps, Abby can now bath sitting up in the tub, something that makes Hannah very happy!
Abby is happiest just hanging out...
After watching Abby eye ball our food for weeks now, along with her starting to lunge for bites, we decided to try rice cereal.
As with many new things that Abby tries, Hannah is standing by, begging to help.
The meal was a success! She didn't eat it all, but she did eat some and enjoyed it. It was funny, we had to wait for her to stop smiling to give her bites.
The details: our girl weighs in at 16 lbs., 4 oz. She has started blowing raspberries, has on a few occasions said the "g" and "b" sounds, grabs at her toys, has *once* rolled from her belly to her back (the wrong way). We are still working on the rolling over, from back to tummy. I try not to focus on the fact that Hannah did it shortly after turning four months... Poor Abby, she will fight against being compared to Hannah for her whole life... trust me, I know, I'm the youngest.
