First, when I picked up Hannah from school today she proudly announced that "(she) pooped on the potty at school!" This is a huge deal. Hannah has been basically potty trained since shortly after we started in mid-August, with the very notable exception of pooping -- specifically, pooping on foreign toilets. This notable exception is a big deal, it means that she cannot go to school in panties and that when we are out and about, there is a dangerous possibility of a slip-up. There was this one week where I attempted to send Hannah to school in panties, the first day was a (poop-less) success, the second one a failure. So, she goes to school in a pull-up (or, as we like to call them, diaper panties) and we wait. We have made it known that when that great and glorious day comes, when she poops on the school potty, we will all go out for ice cream. However, to Kevin's dismay (he is always looking for an ice cream excuse), this bribery has not seemed to work ---- until now! So, we will be visiting Princeton's Bent Spoon tonight to celebrate Hannah's success.
My second exciting, thrilling, can't believe it finally happened, news is that Abby has now had two days of great afternoon naps. Yesterday the girl slept for three hours! Today, we are on schedule for a repeat performance (she is currently logged in at 2 and a half hours). This is huge because the girl just does not nap (sleep) well. Her preference has been (up to yesterday) for these little wimpy 45 minute naps, which gives me just about no time to get anything done. Plus, she wakes up and is tired about a half hour later. If all goes according to plan, she will wake up in the next half hour and then be awake till bedtime (at 7). Here's to hoping that all goes according to plan!
I feel bad for posting without any pictures, so we are going to travel back in time to Hannah's first birthday. Her third is rapidly approaching and I went back to check out what she looked like at her first.
